We also suggest a hearty dinner at one of the city’s diverse restaurants to fuel up for tomorrow’s activities!

Day 2 (Monday): Kayaking & Whales

Our first day of adventure starts with a morning sea kayaking excursion at majestic Hvalfjörður, the “whale fjord”, one of the deepest fjords in the North Atlantic. Enjoy a packed lunch afterwards back on dry land. In the afternoon, our aquatic adventure continues with a whale watching cruise in the Faxaflói bay from Reykjavik’s old harbor. Along with chance sightings of amazing creatures like minke or humpback whales, this is also a treat for bird watchers.

Our next adventure brings us to nearby Þingvellir National Park for a snorkeling tour in the crystal clear waters of the Silfra fissure, considered one of the top ten dive sites in the world. Situated at the rift where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart by 2 cm per year, this is a unique experience to explore an underwater world between two continents!
