About Iceland
Iceland is a refreshingly unconventional travel destination. The Icelandic nature is unspoilt, exotic and mystical with its spouting geysers, active volcanoes, tumbling waterfalls, towering mountains, vast lava plains and magical lakes. Iceland’s fjords, glaciers and highland plains present visitors with some of the most beautiful and enchanting places they will ever see, as well as a rare feeling of utter tranquillity.

For travelers on a quest for action, Iceland’s pristine nature offers great potential for outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, horse riding, cave exploring, hiking, swimming, skiing, river rafting, kayaking and mountain safaris on modified four-wheel drives, to name but a few. Iceland supports a surprisingly diverse Nordic flora and fauna and is an ideal place for ornithology enthusiasts, while also offering some of the world’s best whale watching destinations.

About Reykjavik
Reykjavík sometimes feels like a cosmopolitan capital and a tiny seaside village - all wrapped up in one. But Reykjavík has the best of both worlds; the qualities of a modern, forward-looking society complemented by a close connection to Iceland‚s beautiful and unspoilt nature.

Reykjavík’s legendary nightlife is bolstered by plentiful cultural and social happenings in addition to an abundance of first-class restaurants. The size of Reykjavik city centre is also limited enough to allow for easy navigation by foot. Reykjavík has been described as a young and daring city that is characterized by strong contrasts. Conveniently small, clean and safe, it is more or less free from the major problems that haunt many other capitals. Big city events are frequent, the winter lights festival finished recently with thousands of participants and more tourist at this time of the year than we are used to.

Day 2 – Glacier Adventure and Hvalfjörður
Spend the day on a guided super-jeep tour to Deiltartunguhver, Hraunfossar waterfalls and Langjökull glacier, where you experience an adventure on a dog sled or snow scooter. On our way back, we drive the interior road through Kaldidalur valley to the National Park Þingvellir. Stay in a luxury hotel/apartment in Reykjavík.

Day 3 – Romance by Snæfellsjökull Glacier
Drive to Snæfellsnes peninsula, a perfect location for nature lovers with amazing bird life, lush valleys and lava fields. The glacier is believed by many to be one of Earth’s seven major energy centres, and it was the backdrop to Jules Verne’s Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Snæfellsnes is great for horse riding tours and walks on the beach, as well as to watch birds by the coastline under Snæfelsjökull glacier. Stay at the beautiful seaside hotel Búðir.

Day 4 – Geysir and Gullfoss
Travel to some of the best-known natural phenomena in Iceland, including Þingvellir National Park, the great Geysir area and Gullfoss waterfall. Overnight in the Honeymoon Suite at Hotel Geysir, whose hot pots are an excellent location to see the Northern Lights from when in season.

Day 5 – Cliffs and Waterfalls
Drive to the graceful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, experience walking right behind the flowing water and feel the light drizzle. Head on to visit Skógafoss waterfall, the Skógar folk museum and the spectacular sands and rock formations of Vík. Stay in Skógar area or Hvolsvöllur.

OR

Day 5 – The Westman Islands
Drive to Bakki near Hvolsvöllur, from where you will take a 5-min. flight to the Westman Islands. On the main island of Heimaey, you will get a guided bus tour including a visit to Mt. Eldfell, the volcano that erupted in 1973 causing the 5,000 inhabitants’ temporary evacuation. You can also get an optional guided boat tour from Heimaey, taking you to see the varied birdlife, whales and ocean caves around the island. Fly back to Bakki in the afternoon, and drive to your hotel in Skógar or Hvolsvöllur.
