Welcome to Iceland Guest - Your Online Travel Guide.

Iceland Guest is an information website for your travel to Iceland. On this site you can get all the tourist information you need for your vacation in Iceland. We hope that you will find this online travel guide useful in planning your holidays in Iceland.

About Iceland
Iceland is a refreshingly unconventional travel destination. The Icelandic nature is unspoilt, exotic and mystical with its spouting geysers, active volcanoes, tumbling waterfalls, towering mountains, vast lava plains and magical lakes. Iceland’s fjords, glaciers and highland plains present visitors with some of the most beautiful and enchanting places they will ever see, as well as a rare feeling of utter tranquillity.

For travelers on a quest for action, Iceland’s pristine nature offers great potential for outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, horse riding, cave exploring, hiking, swimming, skiing, river rafting, kayaking and mountain safaris on modified four-wheel drives, to name but a few. Iceland supports a surprisingly diverse Nordic flora and fauna and is an ideal place for ornithology enthusiasts, while also offering some of the world’s best whale watching destinations.

About Reykjavik
Reykjavík sometimes feels like a cosmopolitan capital and a tiny seaside village - all wrapped up in one. But Reykjavík has the best of both worlds; the qualities of a modern, forward-looking society complemented by a close connection to Iceland‚s beautiful and unspoilt nature.

Reykjavík’s legendary nightlife is bolstered by plentiful cultural and social happenings in addition to an abundance of first-class restaurants. The size of Reykjavik city centre is also limited enough to allow for easy navigation by foot. Reykjavík has been described as a young and daring city that is characterized by strong contrasts. Conveniently small, clean and safe, it is more or less free from the major problems that haunt many other capitals. Big city events are frequent, the winter lights festival finished recently with thousands of participants and more tourist at this time of the year than we are used to.

Vacation package - Activity Travel

AT-01 Arctic Golf

Book nowEnjoy the unique golf destination that is Iceland on this special package that maximises the best golf opportunities the island has to offer, as well as visiting some of Iceland’s best known natural phenomena. Experience playing your favourite sport late into the bright night in Iceland’s clean air, surrounded by sparkling natural beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival/Reykjavík
Arrival in Keflavik, transfer to your hotel in Reykjavík.
If you arrive early, we recommend stopping at the Blue Lagoon on your way to Reykjavík (not included) and/or getting a  Reykjavík Tourist Card, which grants you access to all the museums owned by the city of Reykjavík, all the swimming pools in Reykjavík and all buses that run within the greater Reykjavík area. Stay overnight in Reykjavík.

Day 2: Keilir Golf Course
Play golf at the Keilir golf course. The course, only ten minutes drive from Reykjavik, is right on the ocean and is one of Iceland’s most spectacular and unique golf courses. What makes this course unique is that it is built into a lava field as well as on an old ocean links area. The course offers an 18-hole championship course (par 71) and a 9-hole “practice” course. A beautiful new clubhouse was built in 1993 overlooking the courses with a view over the Atlantic Ocean, all the way across the bay to the Snaefellsjökull Glacier on a clear day. Stay overnight in Reykjavík.

Day 3: The South Coast of Iceland and Golf at Hella
Explore the scenic south coast on your way to Hella, where you will stay overnight. Stops include the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, the folk museum at Skógar, the Saga Centre in Hvolsvöllur, the  Dyrhólaey and Reynisdrangar rock formations, and more. In Hella you will find an 18-hole golf course in unique surroundings with stunning natural beauty.

Day 4: The Golden Circle and midnight golf
Spend the day exploring some of the best-known natural phenomena in Iceland including Þingvellir National Park, the Gullfoss waterfall, the great Geysir area and Kerið on your way back to Reykjavik, where you will stay overnight. In the evening, experience playing golf by the Reykjavik coastline at the 9-hole Nesvöllur course late into the night.

Day 5: Departure
Transfer to Keflavik airport with FlyBus. If your flight is in the afternoon, you can stop at the Blue Lagoon and even take a little tour of the Reykjanes peninsula (not included).
