Daily driving distances are moderate, allowing you to take breaks for optional activities such as kayaking, sea angling, bird watching, quad biking, glacier hiking, museum visits and much more.

Day 1: Welcome to ReykjavikArrive at Keflavík International Airport in Iceland and transfer to Reykjavík via the Flybus shuttle. After storing your luggage at your accommodation, we suggest a stroll around the colorful city center, with visits to some of the many museums, shops and cafes.You’ll also find a great assortment of restaurants to tempt your taste buds! For those who wish to sample the city’s legendary nightlife, the downtown is full of lively bars, clubs and live music venues. Spend the night in central Reykjavik. |

Day 2: Wonders of the West
Collect your rental car in the morning and start your journey. Just a short drive from the Capital area brings you to Europe’s most voluminous hot springs, Deildartunguhver, as well as the picturesque Hraunfossar waterfalls. Nearby you‘ll find Reykholt, the home of Snorri Sturluson—one of the most significant figures from Iceland’s Saga Age.

Day 3: Magical SnæfellsnesDriving along the coastline and around the Snæfellsjökull glacier, long believed to be a magical place, there are plenty of interesting stops, including Dritvík Cove, the Lóndrangar cliffs and the mossy lava fields around Búðir. For those who enjoy bird watching or fishing, Breiðafjörður Bay is ideal for such activities with its countless islands. Another possibility is a guided tour in the 100 meter-long Vatnshellir lava cave.You can also find many interesting hiking paths here, such as the trail to Rauðfeldargjá (30 min) and the path from the ancient fishing grounds at Hellnar to Arnarstapi (1 hour). Driving distance: 200 km / 125 miles. Spend another night in the area of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. |

Day 4: The Golden CircleTake in some of the best known attractions in South Iceland. Visit the unique Þingvellir National Park, listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and a site of incredible natural beauty and history. Next, head to the Great Geysir area and walk among the bubbling mud pots and geysers before arriving at the stunning two-tiered Gullfoss waterfall.You can also pay a visit to the ancient bishops' seat nearby at Skálholt and the dormant Kerið crater, now partially filled with a small lake. Driving distance: 320 km / 199 miles. Spend the night in the area of the Golden Circle. |

Day 5: South Iceland at LeisureThis is your day to enjoy some of the many optional activities available in the area. You can go snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the Silfra fissure at Þingvellir or head to Langjökull glacier for a combination glacier hike and sailing tour on Lake Hvítárvatn.Another excellent option is a river rafting trip down the glacial river of Hvítá. Later in the day, continue to the Hvolsvöllur area for your overnight stay. Driving distance: 120 km / 75 miles. Spend the night in the Hvolsvöllur area. |

Day 6: Waterfalls & WildernessVisit the dramatic Seljalandsfoss waterfall, where you have the unique opportunity to follow a walking path behind the misty cascade. Then, continue to the picture-perfect Skógafoss waterfall in Skógar and onward to the volcanic black sand beach at Vík.For extra adventure today, you can join a 4x4 super jeep tour to experience the aftermath of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption or take a hike in the beautiful Þórsmörk nature reserve. It is also possible to visit Sólheimajökull glacier for a glacier hike or snowmobile tour. Spend another night in the Hvolsvöllur area. |

Day 7: Blue Lagoon & ReykjavikContinue your journey to the volcanic wonderland of Reykjanes Peninsula, where you can visit the famous Blue Lagoon, set in an otherworldly black lava field with geothermal waters rich in skin-soothing minerals. Here, you can soak in the lagoon with a drink from the outdoor bar and a silica mud mask, unwind in the saunas and steam baths or get a natural massage under the Blue Lagoon mini-waterfall.Afterwards, head back to Reykjavik where you can enjoy the city's fine dining or energetic nightlife. Fuel or oil is not included.Optional insurance upgrades, additional drivers and child seats are available and payable locally at the car rental office. On Day 2 of your holiday, you will be picked up by your car rental agent between 09:00 and 10:00 from your accommodation in Reykjavik and taken to the car rental depot. If you are paying by credit card, no payment will be deducted from your credit card until you have been contacted by your travel consultant.
