Icelandic Fish & Chips
Icelandic Fish & ChipsLocated adjacent to Reykjavík's old harbour, in the Volcano House, Icelandic Fish & Chips is an organic bistro, taking the popular and delicious concept of fish and chips and giving it an innovative and more health-conscious twist. they've traded in traditional batters and frying oils for spelt and rapeseed, and substitute pan-fried new potatoes tossed in fresh herbs and locally-produced sea salt for typically deep-fried chips.
In addition to plays on the main staples of a fish and chips meal, Icelandic Fish & Chips has infused a quintessentially Icelandic element to its meals with its unique "skyronnaise" dips in place of a more common tartar sauce. The restaurant has turned the creamy Icelandic dairy treat into a line of dipping sauces that make each visit to the restaurant a new experience.
The fish offerings change daily, depending on the freshest catch, but Icelandic Fish & chips generally has a hearty selection of fish, as well as langoustine and salads.
