Kex HostelKEX, a new hostel- and guest house in the centre of Reykjavík, will receive its first guests in the beginning of May. The preparation only lacks the finishing touch and in a matter of days KEX will finally be ready for a fun and eventful summer.KEX is a new and exciting option for travellers looking for a comfortable yet affordable place to stay, with a unique atmosphere, in downtown Reykjavík. An old biscuit factory has been given new life as KEX hostel, which will serve as an optimal base for those visiting Reykjavík wanting to make the most of their stay and to meet interesting people while they´re at it. KEX has been renovated bearing the building´s history in mind, preserving the atmosphere of the old factory. Instead of tearing down the old and cramming the space with mass produced stuff, the KEX team of designers has looked further afield, hand-picking salvaged furniture and other second hand material, while aiming at creating a cosy and enjoyable ambiance for our guests. KEX can accommodate 142 guests, in 32 different rooms and in various price categories. Here, you will also find the facilities to satisfy more than the traveller´s basic needs: A restaurant, a café, a meeting room, a laundry, an old-school gym, guest kitchens, a library and study, a heated patio, and free Wi-Fi are among the services available to our guests.. KEX as a guesthouse and hotel Kex has more to offer than a bunk with no frills. For travellers who want some more privacy and service, we have 10 single and double rooms, 4 family rooms and 2 standard hotel rooms with a private bathroom. These rooms have made up beds and a breakfast included in the price. As such, they are a great choice for those who might otherwise have opted for a guesthouse or even a hotel.
