Björk's Volta Praised Highly in Newsweek

Björk's Volta praised highly in Newsweek The world media are one after another revealing their verdicts on Volta, the new record by the controversial Icelandic star singer and songwriter Björk. One of those was recently published in the US news publication Newsweek, and one can reasonably say that the magazine's critic is more than content with the album.

The review says that, contrary to Björk's previous albums, Volta is an extoverted work of art which leaves firmly behind the world that she had created up until then. This time she declares explicit opinions regarding her own psyche and political vision.

The reviewer especially points out the song "Declare Independence" which Newsweek says is akin to a battle cry to "Danes" living in Greenland under less than favorable conditions. On the other hand, the song is unfathomable enough to inspire all those who are left out in society to claim their rights and demand justice for themselves.
