About Iceland
Iceland is a refreshingly unconventional travel destination. The Icelandic nature is unspoilt, exotic and mystical with its spouting geysers, active volcanoes, tumbling waterfalls, towering mountains, vast lava plains and magical lakes. Iceland’s fjords, glaciers and highland plains present visitors with some of the most beautiful and enchanting places they will ever see, as well as a rare feeling of utter tranquillity.
For travelers on a quest for action, Iceland’s pristine nature offers great potential for outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, horse riding, cave exploring, hiking, swimming, skiing, river rafting, kayaking and mountain safaris on modified four-wheel drives, to name but a few. Iceland supports a surprisingly diverse Nordic flora and fauna and is an ideal place for ornithology enthusiasts, while also offering some of the world’s best whale watching destinations.
About Reykjavik
Reykjavík sometimes feels like a cosmopolitan capital and a tiny seaside village - all wrapped up in one. But Reykjavík has the best of both worlds; the qualities of a modern, forward-looking society complemented by a close connection to Iceland‚s beautiful and unspoilt nature.
Reykjavík’s legendary nightlife is bolstered by plentiful cultural and social happenings in addition to an abundance of first-class restaurants. The size of Reykjavik city centre is also limited enough to allow for easy navigation by foot. Reykjavík has been described as a young and daring city that is characterized by strong contrasts. Conveniently small, clean and safe, it is more or less free from the major problems that haunt many other capitals. Big city events are frequent, the winter lights festival finished recently with thousands of participants and more tourist at this time of the year than we are used to.

It is an irrefuteable fact that The Restaurant Grill, at the top of Radisson SAS Hotel Saga is the most renowned and beloved in its profession in Iceland. For more than four decades the warm and pleasant ambience of “The Grill”, on the 8th floor, has indulged every visitor, caressed their taste buds and put them, literally, to a higher ground. Delicate courses, vintage wines, diverse menus and elegant service are the hallmark, which is framed into an extraordinary background with a spectacular view over a beautiful city. Multi-Awarded cooks, unified servants, skilled sommeliers and disciplined management has made The Grill into a world class restaurant.
A visit to The Grill usally begins with an inviting appetizer in the Astrabar cocktail lounge. The name is derived from the latin meaning of the word “star”, but the lounge was originally named “The Star Saloon”, indicating how close you are to heaven. The Astrabar offers a huge variety of wines, champagne and virgincocktails.
The celestial menu, of the dignified main restaurant hall is filled with tempting courses, skilfully presented for the hearty gourmet. Examples of common starters can consist of lobster medals, king crab or a reindeer canneloni. The main courses are extremely diverse, ranging from international raw-material like italian hares and australian kangoroos to a fresh Icelandic game. The kitchen also offers varied selections of courses made of exotic fish species such as Sea Bass, Turbot and Lemon Soul. For adventurous gourmets, a special, and a very popular, 4-course “surprise” menu is available, meaning a magical and unpredictable combination can be expected from the experienced cooks.
The personnel at The Grill puts their pride and ambition in serving every customer as best as they can. Many possilities are available, in that matter, for larger and smaller groups. Upon reqest the place can be opened for lunch-, promotional or conference meetings for diverse group sizes. The service can always be tailormade according to the needs of every customer.
