About Iceland
Iceland is a refreshingly unconventional travel destination. The Icelandic nature is unspoilt, exotic and mystical with its spouting geysers, active volcanoes, tumbling waterfalls, towering mountains, vast lava plains and magical lakes. Iceland’s fjords, glaciers and highland plains present visitors with some of the most beautiful and enchanting places they will ever see, as well as a rare feeling of utter tranquillity.

For travelers on a quest for action, Iceland’s pristine nature offers great potential for outdoor activities such as snowmobiling, horse riding, cave exploring, hiking, swimming, skiing, river rafting, kayaking and mountain safaris on modified four-wheel drives, to name but a few. Iceland supports a surprisingly diverse Nordic flora and fauna and is an ideal place for ornithology enthusiasts, while also offering some of the world’s best whale watching destinations.

About Reykjavik
Reykjavík sometimes feels like a cosmopolitan capital and a tiny seaside village - all wrapped up in one. But Reykjavík has the best of both worlds; the qualities of a modern, forward-looking society complemented by a close connection to Iceland‚s beautiful and unspoilt nature.

Reykjavík’s legendary nightlife is bolstered by plentiful cultural and social happenings in addition to an abundance of first-class restaurants. The size of Reykjavik city centre is also limited enough to allow for easy navigation by foot. Reykjavík has been described as a young and daring city that is characterized by strong contrasts. Conveniently small, clean and safe, it is more or less free from the major problems that haunt many other capitals. Big city events are frequent, the winter lights festival finished recently with thousands of participants and more tourist at this time of the year than we are used to.

Itinerary

Indulge yourself of a full day of pampering, including massages, therapies and relaxation at the 5* health resort Laugar Spa

Laugar-Spa recommends starting with some cosy relaxation in the hot tubs and steam baths in Laugar’s baths, moving onto a holistic massage with a scrub followed by aromatherapy stone massage.

A light meal is served following the massage before moving onto a facial treatment with head massage tailored to your individual needs. Eyebrow and eyelash colouring, with eyebrow shaping, are included in the facial. Last but not least you will be treated to luxury for your hands and feet in the form of a manicure and pedicure. The day includes admission to the gym.

The health & spa resort is situated in a valley known as Laugardalur, a beautiful leisure area blessed with hot springs, complete with botanical gardens, a family zoo and an activity park. Laugar, an 18,000-square-metre health and swimming resort, has a full-sized outdoor pool and an Olympic-sized indoor pool, seven Jacuzzis and a big thermal pool for family fun. Other facilities at Laugar include gym, spa, beauty- and a massage salon, restaurant, hairdressing salon and a sports shop.

In Laugar Spa you enter an aquatic haven where you can indulge both body and soul.
There are six different saunas and steam rooms – each one unique with its own theme. There you can experience sounds of nature, a starry night sky and inhale different aromas.
You can soothe your tired body in a Thalasso therapy Jacuzzi, revitalize tired feet in a special foot-bath, and switch between hot and cold showers in special cubicles.
You can also rewind in a relaxation room which features a huge central fireplace.

The spa shows the unique design features of Sigurdur Gudmundsson, one of Iceland’s most prominent artists. His artworks and sculptures in smooth granite make the whole spa experience perfect.

World Class Gym is bright and spacious and contains the best in state-of-the-art fitness equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers. A wide variety of classes are available in addition to well educated personal trainers who are there to assist you.

At Laugar there are two restaurants where you can enjoy delicious food and drink.
