Laugarásbíó is one of the most elegant cinemas in Iceland and all the screening auditoriums have been renovated recently with state-of-the-art sound systems, plush seats and more. The main auditorium was renovated in late 2004 and it now contains the largest and widest seats in a general auditorium in Iceland. Laugarásbíó has long been known to have the largest THX screen in the country but with increased comfort for cinema guests and long-standing exceptional service, Laugarásbíó has truly earned its motto: “PURE LUXURY.”

Laugarásbíó is located by Kleppsvegur, which is near the Reykjavík seaside. The approach to the cinema is exceptionally good, there are plenty of parking spaces and it is easy to reach from Reykjavík’s city center. Buses number 4 and 5 have stops very close to Laugarásbíó. Among the blockbusters that will be shown in 2005 are The War of the Worlds, Zorro 2, King Kong and others. Laugarásbíó usually premiers movies on or very close to their opening date in the USA.
