Big city events are frequent, the winter lights festival finished recently with thousands of participants and more tourist at this time of the year than we are used to.

Leirubakki has long been known as a waypoint of many ridingtours and is a popular place to stay for travelers and hikers. It does not matter if your stay is long or short, there are always heaps of activities that you can take part in. Many stay one or two nights on their way up to Rangárvallasyslu, Öræfin, Áfangagil, Hólaskógur, Landmannalaugar, Fjallabaksleid or Sprengisandur, to mention only a few. Others choose a longer stay, because it is possible to organise ridingtours in the proximity of Leirubakki without any hassle. And the experience level neede ranges all the way from 0.5 to 10!!

On Leirubakki, we have a horse centre and hire. The ridinghall is under one roof with facilities for holding ridingclasses and for training horses.The stable and the ridinghall are under one roof and always filled up with great horses for sale or training. Ridingtours in the neighbourhood through the wonderful scenery are very popular and always an experience. Such trips stay in the memory of everyone that tried. We asked for reservations for groups so we can organise the ridingclasses.
